Marine & Weatherized Gimbal Systems
Any ocean. Any mission.
GSS marine-rated systems bring the same precision stabilization and imaging performance to the harshest environments on earth — sealed, tested, and ready for whatever the ocean throws at them.
All GSS gimbals are fully enclosed — protecting camera, lens, and electronics from dust, rain, and the elements as a matter of course. For marine applications, we take that further: IP67-rated construction, enhanced sealing, and real-world testing for continuous use in open-ocean environments.
Some of our marine customers are shooting in the most punishing conditions imaginable. Others are giving expedition cruise guests a front-row view of Arctic wildlife from the comfort of a ship’s lounge. The platform handles both.
From the Bering Sea to the Arctic Circle.
Production in Extreme Conditions
Big seas, driving rain, spray-soaked decks — the kind of conditions that end careers for unprotected equipment. GSS marine systems were built to keep shooting when everything else would call it a day. Our systems have been used on productions like Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch, where the environment is as much the story as the people in it, and the camera has to keep rolling no matter what.

Expedition Cruise & Passenger Vessels
Adventure cruise operators Seabourn and Hurtigruten use masthead-mounted Cineflex 512EX systems to give their guests close-up views of wildlife in some of the world’s most remote destinations. A long zoom lens from the mast of a ship delivers imagery that would otherwise require putting passengers in a Zodiac — polar bears on the ice, whale pods at the surface, glaciers calving at distance.
The camera feeds directly to the ship’s lounge. Guests see the shot. The wildlife doesn’t know anyone’s watching.
Your platform, weatherized.
Marine-rated builds are available across the GSS and Cineflex product lineup. We work with you to specify the right base platform for your application, then configure it for the environment. Standard IP67 rating, custom mounting solutions, and integration with your vessel’s existing systems where required.

Custom Marine Applications
We’ve built systems capable of operating at the waterline in open-ocean conditions — projects we’re proud of and can’t always describe. If your application requires stabilized imaging in a demanding marine environment, that’s a conversation worth having.
